Faisal Al Amairi
QA/QC Supervisor, Oxy
Faisal Al Amairi is a QA/QC Supervisor in Occidental Petroleum Corporation, Oman. His areas of focus in his role are Quality management system, Quality assurance, Quality control, Welding, Non-destructive Examination (NDE), Painting and Coating during manufacturing and construction of different products and equipments used in oil and gas assets.
Before that he held different quality management positions in Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) such as Senior quality control Engineer in Rabab Harweel Integrated Project (the biggest project in PDO’s history) in which he led a team of more than 40 quality control inspectors covering quality control activities of different disciplines including civil, electrical, instrumentation, piping, pipeline, static, rotating, painting, NDE, welding and GRE. After that, he held a position of Senior Manufacturing and Construction quality Engineer. This position was created because of merging two positions led by 25+ years’ experience experts. He accepted the challenge, unified both teams, systemized the way of work, enhanced the material receiving inspection process, deployed Omani inspectors within the team and mentored their development, contributed effectively to many aspects made to manage the suppliers including specifications and procedures development, vendor assessments, contract review, technical bids evaluations, compliance audits, failure investigation and root cause analysis.
Faisal holds master’s degree in project management from university of Liverpool in the UK, bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Sultan Qaboos University in Oman and Diploma in quality management from Charted Quality Institute CQI. Additionally, during his career he achieved several professional certificates like ISO 9001 lead auditor, AWS certified welding inspector, ASNT NDT level II in MT, PT, RT, and UT, BGAS painting inspector grade 2, API 510 and API 653.
